It takes place at the Hillcrest Centre on Sunday 28th January between 11am-3pm. For this month our Repair Cafe will be taking place at the Hillcrest Centre alongside a massive New Year swap. So bring any unwanted items, Christmas presents, clothes, seeds and toys to give and take yourself something in return.

Alongside this the Hospitable Environment will be hosting one of their regular 'Soup and Social' events where you can enjoy a free lunch. The cafe will be open for drinks and cakes throughout the day.

There will be workshops and talks taking place at 11am, 12pm and 2pm. This includes a baking workshop for children, zip mending workshop, glueing and mending workshop and a Troubleshooting session to help you tackle basic electrical repairs on your own.

And there will be live acoustic music.

We are incredibly grateful to Ouse Valley Climate Action who are generously funding this event.

We'll be looking for volunteers for this event so do let us know if you can spare any hours between 10-4 on the day or help with preparations and publicity.

OVESCO (the Ouse Valley Energy Services Company CIC - https://ovesco.co.uk/ continues to run fortnightly advice sessions alongside our library stalls.

Their Energy Champions are trained to offer individuals and community groups free advice and support
around energy bills, reducing energy use in the home and improving efficiency and signposting to financial initiatives and help.
 
They can offer help on understanding and reducing your bills, getting grants to insulate your home, where to find support with energy benefits and debt relief, and much more. There will also be the option to talk to them confidentially in a library 'pod' if you prefer.
